Description
The University of Chicago's Department of Medicine, Section of Cardiology, is searching for full-time faculty at any rank who specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with advanced heart failure. We especially welcome applicants with demonstrated experience in a collaborative practice engaged in clinical care and research. Clinical responsibilities will include providing care to a complex group of patients hospitalized with heart failure and cardiogenic shock; development of an outpatient clinical practice; performance of right heart catheterization, endomyocardial biopsy and implantable pressure monitor insertion (CardioMEMS). Appointees will provide outreach to UChicago Medicine sites including the Chicagoland suburbs and/or Northwest Indiana. Other duties will include teaching and supervising trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be ABIM Certified in Advanced Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology and Cardiovascular Disease, and 4) be eligible or certified to implant pulmonary artery pressure monitors.
