Job Summary
Community Education is seeking an experienced artist/potter/fine arts teacher, specializing in ceramics to lead non-credit ceramics courses ranging from beginner to advanced level. Including but not limited to teaching students how to use a potter's wheel, throw clay, glaze techniques, hand molding, and operating a kiln, etc.
Education: Associates Degree in Fine Arts OR Certificate in Fine Arts OR 5+ years of working/teaching in a ceramics studio
Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesBe current in subject area and possess the ability to develop, prepare, and evaluate instructional materials that promote learning, along with the willingness to utilize alternative teaching techniques and instructional technology where appropriate
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Duties require little physical effort in working with light (up to 10 lbs), easy to handle materials. Duties performed causes light fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other faculties due to long periods of standing, sitting, repetitive motion and viewing a monitor. Some specialized faculty positions may require the lifting of heavier weights although lifting may be assisted.

Demonstrate the willingness as well as the capacity to cooperate in a professional and courteous manner with other college employees and students. Share knowledge and contribute to helping others collegially while supporting the mission of the College.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Job is performed in general classroom or comparable working area with occasional distractions such as noise, interruptions, or congested work areas with exposure to some disagreeable elements.
