Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit:The TEACCH Autism Program began in 1972 as a system of university-based regional centers to serve children, adolescents, and adults with on the autism spectrum and their families. As part of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the program has an active clinical, teaching, and research program. TEACCH operates seven community regional clinics across the state. Each center offers a set of core services along with unique demonstration programs meeting the needs of autistic individuals, their families, and professionals across the state of North Carolina. Also, a part of TEACCH are the Carolina Living and Learning Center, a residential/vocational training facility for autistic adults as well as a Supported Employment program providing Job Coaching and related services to adults on the spectrum.
TEACCH provides clinical services such as diagnostic evaluations, parent training and parent support groups, social play and recreation groups, individual counseling for autistic individuals, and supported employment. In addition, TEACCH conducts research on outcomes and efficacy of intervention methods to support evidence-based practice.
TEACCH is part of the North Carolina Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) program and faculty are actively involved in student and professional training activities within the state, nation, and across the world. We offer a large number of professional training activities ranging from online courses to single day lecture style workshops to multi-day, hands-on intensive training and professional conferences. These trainings are offered within the state, across the nation, and around the world. Local trainings and conferences offer CEUs. In fiscal year 2024 we offered 94 trainings to over 3700 participants. We taught participants in 47 US States and 53 countries. We have developed a series of unique online programs and webinars to extend our reach to rural areas and professionals across the world. TEACCH also offers a professional certification program. Additionally, TEACCH hosts both visitors and interns from around the world all interested in learning more about structured TEACCHing and other methods used in our work with autistic clients.
This position is located at the TEACCH Administration & Research building in Carrboro, NC.
The primary purpose of this position is to manage and coordinate all registrar and related duties for the TEACCH training program and provide operational support for the training leadership team. The TEACCH training program is internationally recognized as a training leader for clinicians and educators who work with autistic individuals, and the demand for training is continually growing.
This position's duties include but are not limited to:
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals and organizations from around the world.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Ability to manage all registration and related duties for the TEACCH training department
Manage all aspects of participant registration for TEACCH training programs, including maintaining up-to-date records, coordinating communication with participants, and ensuring seamless enrollment processes. Oversee logistical arrangements and troubleshoot any registration issues that arise.
Ability to effectively apply all training policies and procedures. Communicate and apply these guidelines to ensure smooth execution and consistency.
Ability to create financial reports related to training programs including tracking program revenues and expenses
Address and resolve participant issues, providing exceptional customer service and support
Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities when dealing with unexpected challenges
Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Experience in training programs, event coordination, or related activities preferred.
