This role targets an AI Architect at the level of Consultant OR Senior Consultant and must be located within a commutable distance of one of our Norcal offices (San Francisco, Redwood City, or Walnut Creek).
What You'll Do
- Lead and participate in solutioning sessions, working hand-in-hand with business/client, translating business objectives and challenges into actionable machine learning/data science use cases and AI solution architectures.
- Design AI solutions which enable data-driven decision making (e.g., build statistical and machine learning models for trend analysis and forecasting to predict future business outcomes for a Fortune 100 company).
- Work with a team of data professionals to integrate diverse data sources, establishing a comprehensive and unified view of the client's data landscape.
- Efficiently synthesize large volumes of data, extracting meaningful insights in a structured and programmatic manner as needed.
- Leverage feature engineering and quantitative methods such as statistical modeling, machine learning, deep learning and generative AI to implement and validate AI solutions.
- Create effective data visualizations to explain complex data patterns and expected business value brought by the AI solution to non-technical stakeholders.
- Keep up to date with the latest developments AI and generative AI. In particular, understand different models and their applications. Recognizing how generative AI can securely and ethically fulfill business demands, identify gaps, or pioneer new innovations.
- Help manage workstream delivery teams (contribute to Agile process and project status reporting).
- Primarily: contribute to project delivery and maximize client outcomes. Occasionally: provide expertise during pre-sales. Sometimes: optimize our internal operations to help keep us a well-running business.
What You'll Bring
- Ideally, a Bachelor's/Master's degree in a quantitative field with 8/6+ years of experience designing and building: feature engineering pipelines and data science or artificial intelligence or generative AI training / inference pipelines.
- Strong proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and experience with libraries/frameworks such, pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, and TensorFlow. Big data experience (ex: Hadoop / Apache Spark) is a nice plus.
- Experience with cloud and modern data science tools / platforms such as AWS/Sagemaker/Bedrock, GCP/VertexAI/Gemini, Azure AI Studio or OpenAI.

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For the Consultant level, the base salary pay range is 114.000 - 161,000 and the targeted base salary range is 114.000 - 150,000. For the Senior Consultant level, the base salary pay range is 131,000 - 185,000, and the targeted base salary range is 131,000 - 170,000. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
