Adams & Martin Group is seeking a Application Developer III to support our clients legal department for a 2 year long contract. The Application Developer III will report to the Development Team Lead and work closely with the General Counsel, the Application Developer III serves as a senior-level contributor within the legal department's technology team. This role involves creating, supporting, and maintaining secure software systems tailored to legal and organizational requirements. The Application Developer III also mentors junior team members, supports DevOps functions, and assumes limited project management responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with excellent communication and leadership skills to drive innovation and efficiency within the legal department's operations.

Key Responsibilities:

* Software Development and Maintenance:

o Develop and maintain software and applications in alignment with business and legal department needs.

o Research, design, and implement secure, efficient applications and systems.

o Translate user stories into functional software solutions with a focus on security and compliance.

* Advanced Support and Troubleshooting:

o Provide advanced support for internally developed applications, including troubleshooting and debugging.

o Collaborate with IT and legal teams to ensure application and system security, adhering to best practices.

* Mentorship and Collaboration:

o Mentor junior developers, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing.

o Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and improve processes.

o Create and maintain comprehensive documentation to support system and process enhancements.

* Testing and Quality Assurance:

o Develop and perform software testing to ensure application reliability and security.

o Conduct code reviews and support Test-Driven Development (TDD) initiatives.

* DevOps and Project Management:

o Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies to ensure efficient operations.

o Assist project managers and product owners with requirements gathering, system design, and user story creation.

* Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

o Stay updated on new trends, technologies, and best practices relevant to the role.

o Recommend and implement improvements to existing systems to enhance performance and compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Extensive experience with Agile development methodologies.

* Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline management and deployment strategies.

* Expertise with Git and version control systems.

* Proven ability to develop secure, scalable software within an MVC framework.

* Minimum three years of hands-on experience with:

o Python

o PHP

o Ruby on Rails (RoR)

o Django

o JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS

* Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern database management systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL).

* Strong problem-solving abilities and experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD).

Preferred Qualifications:

* A four-year undergraduate degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university.

* Experience with GNU/Linux environments.
