program. Note: This is a fully remote half-time position.

Now in its seventh year, the I-MPA is an intensive, one-year, on-campus graduate professional degree program of the College of Arts and Sciences (LPS), a unit of the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS), delivered via Fox Leadership International (FLI), a unit of the Partnership for Innovation, Cross-Sector Collaboration, Leadership, and Organization (PICCLO). In 2024, PICCLO-FLI faculty and staff reviewed more than 1,500 I-MPA applications, interviewed more than 500 I-MPA applicants, and certified more than I-MPA 100 students for graduation.Job Description

The Assistant Director for Recruitment co-reviews all applications; participates in three-quarters of all candidate interviews; assists in anti-melt efforts with Mandarin-speaking applicants who accept and deposit.

Briefing the faculty director, associate director, and members of the I-MPA senior staff on application screenings and interviews.

Creating and updating tables and charts tracking recruitment and comparing year-over-year enrollment data. Coordinating information sessions with program instructors.

Job Responsibilities

  • Screening all applications; identifying and ranking the most qualified candidates for admission; identifying a subset of qualified applicants with educational, experiential, or legal backgrounds relevant to the program's class-wide exercises on global leadership and problem-solving, in particular its class-wide capstone project on eldercare in Asia with a focus on China.

  • Interviewing three-quarters of all applicants selected for interviews.

  • Assist in robust "anti-melt" initiatives with Mandarin-speaking applicants who accept and deposit, and in efforts to ascertain any given individual admitted student's intent to enroll.

  • Assist in developing marketing materials for the IMPA program and co-lead selected recruitment activities (e.g. hosting information sessions, conducting outreach, etc.).

  • Assist in translating for online special guests, including public law experts and officials, who participate as speakers in I-MPA capstone exercises on eldercare in China.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

  • Minimum education/degree required for this position: Master's degree in public administration, social work, or a cognate graduate professional field.

  • Preferred requirements: Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese; 5 years minimum experience leading, managing, tutoring, or teaching in university or other educational programs.

  • Strongly preferred: History of prior research or employment experience related to aging, eldercare, or the health of seniors, preferably with a focus on eldercare in Asia, most particularly China.
