Company Description
The University of Maryland School of Medicine, Division of Neonatology is a rapidly growing academically oriented division. We are currently seeking an assistant/associate faculty position for our level IV NICU in University of Maryland Medical Center. In addition to the main campus level IV NICU, coverage includes two level III regional NICUs with 15-26 beds.

Position Highlights:
  • The candidate will have a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics of the University of Maryland School of Medicine at the academic level commensurate with experience.
  • An essential component of the position will be the education of our departmental residents and NICU fellows.
  • The successful candidate should be BC/BE, with excellent teaching and clinical skills. In addition to clinical duties, neonatologists have an opportunity to participate in clinical and translational research and quality improvement projects.

  • 24/7 in-house advanced practice providers
  • The largest NICU High-risk Follow Up Program in the state of Maryland Center for Advanced Fetal Care (CAFC) for medically complex fetus and mother.
  • The Maryland Regional Neonatal Transport Program (MRNTP) services that provides ambulance and helicopter transportation from more than 30 hospitals in the region for critically ill infants.
  • Substance use in pregnancy (SUP) center of excellence and translational research

Qualifications
  • Medical degree or foreign equivalent.
  • Completion of Residency training in Pediatrics
  • Completion of Fellowship training in Neonatology
  • Maryland medical license or eligible for Maryland medical license.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatology
  • Possesses and maintains current DEA or similar Narcotics and Controlled Substances Certification required.
  • Demonstrates meeting minimum CME requirements for licensure and board certification.
  • Demonstrates appropriate qualifications and experience to perform the duties required of this position.
