  • $130,000 to $140,000, Dependent on Experience, 9-month contract
  • 40 hours per week

Purpose of Position

The Department of Marketing in the Nistler College of Business and Public Administration at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track position. Applicants will be considered for Assistant Professor with the opportunity of tenure credit with primary responsibilities in teaching, research, and service. Candidates must have served a minimum of two years in rank at their current position and could receive a maximum of three years towards tenure, commensurate with their research and teaching productivity.

Qualified candidates will have a demonstrated record of teaching undergraduate or graduate courses in the field of marketing, a demonstrated research publication record in high quality marketing journals and demonstrated commitment to service roles. The candidate's contributions should align with the missions and strategic plans of the University of North Dakota, Nistler College of Business and Public Administration, and the Marketing department.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • 50% - Teaching - High quality teaching at the undergraduate level in the following areas: Marketing Management, Marketing Foundations and other elective courses
  • 10% - Service - Service at the department, college, university, and academy levels
  • 40% - Research - Publish in high quality research journals in the marketing field
Required Competencies
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively communicate with students, coworkers, and various external groups.
  • Ability to work with and engage diverse students and colleagues within and outside of the Marketing Department.
Minimum Requirements
  • PhD or DBA in Marketing from an AACSB Accredited Program.
  • Evidence of quality teaching within a Marketing Program.
  • Evidence of scholarly research expected to result in publications in high quality marketing journals.
  • Evidence in support of AACSB Faculty Qualification standards for Scholarly Academic (SA).
  • Two years in current assistant professor rank
  • Successful completion of criminal history background check

Preferred Qualifications
  • Evidence of past quality teaching of Marketing Management/Marketing Strategy course or Foundations of Marketing/Introduction to Marketing course
  • Publication(s) in high quality marketing journals
