Apply now for the position of Biochemist 1 to support the customer escalations of laboratory diagnostic assays that are used by clinical labs around the world. Your work will impact clinical decisions and patient outcomes for infectious diseases, oncology, and other disease states. This position reports to the Manger of Technical Operations - Customer Escalation sector.

This position includes the handling of all types of materials, including hazardous DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) controlled materials. This position requires a DEA background and drug screen.

Your role:

  • Leading customer investigations by designing investigation protocols, performing testing, and writing summary reports for escalations.
  • Participating in and investigating technical issues associated with formulation and QC testing of immunoassay reagents and testing components.
  • Writing compliance documentation associated with technical investigations, data analyses, and experimental conclusions.
  • Investigating reagent and testing components using our cutting-edge automated platforms, the Atellica, Centaur, and CP instrumentation with serum and other biological fluids of human and animal origin.
  • Coordinating and carrying out investigations and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Coordinating with appropriate departments on material and process changes, including productivity projects, and specification changes. Leading and coordinating with vendors to investigate raw material performance.

Your expertise:
  • Good understanding and knowledge of the principles of biochemistry
  • Ability to interpret data and to assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
  • Strong work ethic, and be capable of timeline management
  • Excellent written and communication skills
Your Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or other related life sciences major
  • Experience working with immunoassay platforms or technologies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Experience working on design and/or process change projects and CAPA preferred
  • Must be flexible and demonstrate the ability to switch priorities to meet business needs.
