Position Summary:

Flexible work arrangements, including virtual/hybrid work locations, are an integral part of the School of Medicine's Working Forward initiative. As such, this position's work location will be designated as virtual. Please note that the designated work location is subject to change based on the unit's business needs.

This Business Services Coordinator position provides high-level business and administrative functions for the Department of Dermatology. This position will independently plan and carry out daily work activities and responsibilities of the department, based on the priorities and judgment of the Associate Chair for Administration (ACA). This position will work with the department leadership and faculty to manage business priorities and needs of the department, complete special projects/assignments, and be responsible for performing a variety of administrative duties. This position will interact with all Dermatology faculty, students, research and laboratory personnel and administrative staff. This position will have an important role in the administrative operations of the department. The incumbent's work responsibilities will be directly tied with the Department ACA's business priorities and department's various business as usual activities.

The Business Services Coordinator will serve as a lead administrative coordinator for the Department of Dermatology Faculty Development. As such, the position will be a business partner with department faculty and will be available to assist them with a multitude of faculty-centric processes and questions. The position will provide clear, coherent and correct information to faculty and other employees of the department. The Business Services Coordinator will work and lead in the many, varied programs and projects currently needed by the department: including Social Media and Event Management. The incumbent will also be responsible for keeping up with clinical and research industry trends and best practices to identify and develop department process enhancements. The position will work closely with the ACA with oversight of purchasing activities, inventories and equipment.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

Candidates for this position must have strong, demonstrated organizational skills and abilities in setting and completing administrative priorities. The candidate will have the ability to facilitate a variety of business processes and operations within the work unit. Attention to details and demonstrated abilities in written and verbal communication are needed to be successful in this position. Must be able to demonstrate the ability manage projects and meet established deadlines. Please be prepared to validate your abilities through written documentation and/or the interview process.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

Previous experience in a university, research, or healthcare setting preferred. Experience with ConnectCarolina, PeopleSoft, and Infoporte preferred.
