Job Summary:
The Buyer/Strategic Sourcing Specialist is a key member of the Technetics Group end to end supply chain team and collaborates with Engineering, R&D, New Product Introduction, Manufacturing, Sales, and Quality to identify, qualify, and develop suppliers of raw materials, manufactured components, and services.
The Buyer identifies demand using MRP/ERP, forecasts, historical trends, discrete requests, and other means. The Buyer is responsible for source identification, RFI/RFP/RFQ, bids, and bid analysis. Analysis performed by the Buyer includes Total Cost of Ownership, Risk Assessment, and similar. They will coordinate technical sourcing activities in cooperation with Engineering and Quality.
Essential Functions:
- Utilizes ERP / MRP system to plan and execute purchases for raw materials, components, supplies, services and other requirements.
- Conducts key strategic negotiations and contracting to ensure best price, terms, delivery, quality, and alignment with commercial strategies. Includes RFX activities, source identification / qualification, and contract management.
- Implements and maintains supplier risk assessment and segmentation. Analyzes and manages suppliers and material markets for cost reduction, risk mitigation, alternative options, and opportunities.
- Utilizes and applies Lean, Six Sigma, and Project Management methodologies and strategies to supply chain activities.
- Works across functions, sites, and divisions to participate on/lead Enpro category teams, implement enterprise sourcing agreements and supply chain strategies to manage drivers and metrics including: DSI, DPO, RCOI, Working Capital and similar.
- Responsible for site metrics, such as Cost Savings, OTD, Supplier Quality, Service Level, and similar.
- Participates on new product development (sourcing / costing).
- Has a good understanding of products and manufacturing processes related to the business.
- Works cross-functionally to calculate and establish stocking, replenishment and consignment levels for RM and supplies based on sourcing economies, business needs, and efficiencies.
- Manages key compliance elements, such as Conflict Minerals, ITAR, and similar.
- Ensures standardized work procedures for supply chain department are accurate and up to date.
- Performs any other assigned duty as directed by management.
- Up to 5% travel may be required.
Additional Responsibilities: - Participates on EMLS / Continuous improvement initiatives and Site Safety Teams
Work Environment: - This is an onsite position located at our manufacturing facility. Candidates should be prepared to work in a collaborative, hands-on environment.
Job Qualifications: - 2+ years procurement experience in manufacturing environment required.
- 2+ years of technical purchasing and contracting required.
- A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications required: Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Experience in ERP systems using MRP, Master Planning / Scheduling strongly preferred.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and technical specifications helpful but not required.
- Proficiency with LEAN, Six Sigma and other continuous improvement methods preferred.
