This position performs chemical and physical analyses, interprets results, records the data and reports to production.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Performs Quality Control (QC) analyses on all required raw materials, process, finished products and waste samples.
  • Interprets analysis results, records data, and enters results in to LIMS.
  • Reports the results to corresponding units and makes batch adjustments when necessary.
  • Maintains proper files for retain samples and quality records.
  • Prepares reagents and standards, calibrates instruments, and troubleshoots instruments as needed.
  • Ensures the QA/QC data input in LIMS
  • Assists with analyses of special samples.
  • Disposes of chemical wastes.
  • Responsible for QC lab instruments running smoothly, lab-related special projects
  • Ability to work a 4 on 4 off rotating work schedule and coverage when necessary
  • EHS responsibilities include: possible inspections and audits as assigned, participating in Hazard Reviews as needed, recommending safety improvements, completion of safety action items as assigned, completing required regulatory training, and compliance with all

Qualifications

Requirements
  • B.S. or Associates degree in Chemistry with 2-4 years industrial work experience or equivalent work history/experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment.
  • Experience with laboratory test equipment such as GC, HPLC, FTIR, and auto-titrators

This job may require the following: primarily sitting while working on computer /speaking on the phone, and reaching above shoulder heights and below the waist as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday and lift up to 50 pounds on occasion. Proper lifting techniques are required.

Primary environment: Inside working area - ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment. May occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, hard hat, steel-toed shoes and mandatory hearing protection.
