GENERAL PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Director of Academic Advising, the College Credit Plus (CCP) Coordinator is responsible for the

development, implementation, and management of the College Credit Plus Program. The CCP Coordinator supports

student success through collaboration with Academic Affairs and other university and community constituents. This

position is part-time and is grant-funded for one year, with the possibility of an extension.

The position reports directly to the Director of Academic Advising

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and foster relationships with local high school guidance counselors.
  • Meet monthly with each of the local high schools
  • Identify needs and areas of interest for potential CCP Students
  • Identify and address areas for improvement within the CCP Program
  • Serve as Academic Advisor for CCP Students
  • Assists with course registration and course and degree planning
  • Communicate with CCP students through the application and orientation process
  • Collaborate with the Admission Office to review CCP Student applications
  • Organize and execute CCP Orientation
  • Create and Maintain the CCP handbook
  • Administer Accuplacer, ALEKs math, and other placement assessments
  • Review appraisals and communicate with students and high school counselors
  • Complete FERPA training and understand CCP implications
  • Become familiar with State CCP Guidelines
  • Run and submit ODHE State reports
  • Maintain accurate lists of approved first 15 courses and CCP pathway recommendations
  • Attend local CCP, PTO, and Articulation nights
  • Collaborate with Heidelberg Faculty working to improve the CCP experience
  • Forecast needed course seats and sections needed for CCP students
  • Maintain accurate records in all advising matters
  • Assess, and continuously improve College Credit Plus at Heidelberg
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

DESIRED ATTRIBUTES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

(A) Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and related experience in higher education administration or

appropriate academic discipline,

(B) A minimum of one (1) year of college admission, academic advising, academic support services, or student

success work including supervisory and leadership-level responsibilities.

(C) A valid driver's license.


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

(A) Advanced degree in relevant academic field preferred.

(B) Increasingly responsible administrative experience in an advising leadership role in a directly related field

(e.g., higher education administration, education, or counseling).


Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and evidence of success using formalized academic assessment of learning outcomes for program improvement and student success.
  • Outstanding, relevant interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently as well as cooperatively in a team setting.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and balance competing priorities.
  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with staff and all offices across campus to deliver high-quality customer service.


TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED: Various instructional technologies including, but not limited to Google Suite, learning management systems such as Canvas, video conferencing, etc.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be subject to a variety of outdoor conditions including heat, cold, and precipitation. The employee is required to be mobile and be able to communicate clearly and effectively with others.


WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in office and classroom settings as well as educational facilities including sports and entertainment venues, all of which may be indoor or outdoor. The employee will be required to travel to local high schools for check-in visits and CCP events, which may include evening and weekend commitments. The noise level in the work environment will range from quiet to moderately loud.


SELECTION GUIDELINES: The CCP Coordinator will be selected after a formal application procedure, education and experience rating, oral interview, teaching demonstration, and reference check. All offers of employment are contingent upon a satisfactory criminal background screen, motor vehicle record search, drug and alcohol screen, and physical and/or psychological examination at the University's discretion.
