Volt is NOW HIRING a CNC Machinist in beautiful Rancho Santa Margarita, CA!
This successful candidate has 5+ years of CNC Lathe or Mills Machining experience utilizing various metals and stainless steel.
This is a DIRECT HIRE, Full-Time opportunity.
Schedule: M-F with Opportunity for OT on Saturdays
Compensation: $25-35/Hr. (With Opportunity for OT)
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
Requirements: - 5+ years of experience operating, setting up, and running CNC Lathe and/or Mills Machines.
- Availability to work overtime when required for priority shipments.
- Knowledge of Trigonometry/ Shop Math is a MUST
- Ability to calculate and adjust feed rates and spindle speeds.
- Skilled in spotting and correcting program errors.
- Familiarity with basic MDI programming.
- Ability to read blueprint symbols and notations, traveler, and measuring micrometer.
- Ability to make setups strong and safe enough to run at optimum speeds and depths of cut.
- Able to troubleshoot and edit programs to safely increase metal removal rate and decrease cycle time.
- Must be able to manipulate large castings in place for machining.
Summary: - Sets up and operates CNC machines such as lathes and mills, to cut, shape, or form metal work pieces to specifications, by performing the duties/responsibilities indicated below.
- Works from prints, sketches, process sheets, layouts, templates written and verbal instructions.
- Checks CNC programs for errors and debugs/ edits them in order to improve time and quality of program.
- Calculate and adjust machine feed and speed and changes cutters to machine parts according to specifications when automatic programming is faulty or machine malfunctions.
- Troubleshoots and interprets malfunctions and makes corrections.
- Checks traveler and blueprints for errors or special instructions.
- Locates, adjusts, and secures tools and tool holders, grinds tools, mounts work holding fixtures, and adjusts index table to follow programming instructions.
- Uses hoists and cranes to move parts around work center and loads and unloads machines.
- Write simple Manual Data Input (MDI) programs for basic operations and troubleshooting.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment.
