The Resource Industries Sales, Services and Technology (RISST) division is one of the most exciting, global and customer-focused organizations across Caterpillar. We are responsible for the go-to-market strategy for surface and underground mining; and we are focused on delivering growth and the ultimate customer experience through advanced technologies including automation and electrification, integrated site solutions and more!
As a Communication Specialist, you will have the opportunity to create impactful communications leveraging multiple vehicles and lead communication planning to impact our employee and customer experience.
What you will do:
- Own, execute and improve divisional communications and plans, employee engagement campaigns, intranet website, distribution lists and newsletter publications.
- Lead annual enterprise campaign communications for the division.
- Lead divisional HR communications, including direct support to the division HR Director.
- Own the communications pillar of the divisional recognition strategy.
- Own the divisional Viva Engage engagement and growth strategy.
- Support the lead communicator on major divisional initiatives including the Senior Vice President's weekly newsletter, quarterly all-employee meetings and more.
- Own divisional communications metrics, data analytics, scorecard and operational improvement plan.
- Own the divisional communications process excellence, standard work and information management processes.
- Actively contribute to the Segment process excellence team and editorial by submitting divisional articles, employee recognition and more.
- Participate on the Plan Do Check Act (PDCA) segment team to ensure a streamlined approach and improvements to communication deliverables.
- Deliver localized communications support for the Tucson Mining Center and at times coordinate across Tucson-area facilities on communications.
- Support go-to-market vice presidents on their organizational communication strategies.
What Skills you will have: - Effectiveness Measurement: Knowledge of effective measurement techniques and ability to measure the quality and quantity of work effort for the purpose of improvement.
- Interpersonal Relationships : Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
- Communicating for Impact: Knowledge of the concepts, tools and techniques for effective listening and communicating; ability to apply these theories to receive, transmit and accurately interpret information and ideas to influence others in various situations.
- Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way.
- Internal Communications : Knowledge of techniques and media for internal communications; ability to produce and distribute news, newsletters and other communications materials targeted at the employees.
