Job Summary
As a Compensation Specialist at BPMI, you will perform semi-complex critical business functions to support company operations in the development, implementation, and administration of BPMI's compensation programs. You will work closely with the Compensation team to analyze market data and evaluate job positions. You will also support the annual salary increase process, participate in salary surveys, and assist with the communication of compensation policies and guidelines to employees. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that the organization's compensation practices are competitive, fair, and aligned with business objectives.
Essential Duties:
- Assist with the design and implementation of the company's base pay programs and policies as a key component of the total rewards strategy.
- Participate in the development of the annual salary increase request and the annual salary review process and provide guidance and support to managers and employees regarding compensation matters.
- Participate in salary surveys, conduct market analysis of new and existing jobs, and make recommendations to ensure competitive and fair compensation practices.
- Process job offer requests, determine appropriate compensation levels for new hires and promotions.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of job descriptions and review FLSA position status and ensure proper classification.
- Participate in audits to identify issues and/or inconsistencies, and take appropriate action to address, resolve and prevent recurrence of those issues.
- Prepare statistical studies and reports as required by legislation or organization needs.
- Assist management in union negotiations on wage and hour matters, when needed.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of company management. Consult with and counsel management on semi-complex compensation related matters.
- Recommend, implement and maintain effective Human Resource programs and practices to ensure that the organization is in compliance with government regulations and corporate and contract requirements while meeting organization goals and objectives.
- Participate in the development and implementation of training programs for managers and employees on compensation programs.
- Maintain awareness and apply knowledge of trends, best practices, and legal developments in Human Resources.

Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Management/Administration or equivalent degree from an accredited college or university.
- A minimum of two (2) years of compensation experience. An advanced degree or HR certification may be considered in lieu of some years(s) of experience.
- Ten (10) or more years of completed education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years of experience requirements.
- Requires a security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Human Resources certification: CCP; complete or in progress
- Experience with SuccessFactors Compensation module is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in human resource functions and specifically developing total compensation packages.
- Prior compensation experience with a Government Contractor.
- Advanced knowledge of federal and state laws and rules concerning human resources management required.
- Advanced knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws required.
- Excellent project management, organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail under strict deadlines.
- Strong business acumen, and solid analytical and statistical skills, both qualitative and quantitative.
