You will be at the forefront of lean improvements connecting to strategy and executing through our Production System (ALPS) and transformational projects in our Service Center. Your role involves identifying opportunities for transformation, streamlining processes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
About the job:
You will be scoping and leading the implementation of lean manufacturing transformation projects and initiatives related to physical service center flows and administrative flows. You will be leading, promoting, and executing our Lean Implementation Plan (based on Alfa Laval Production System principles), relentlessly pursuing for Lean/ 5S development opportunities in workshop.
You will act as first line support for ALPS (Alfa Laval Production System) at the Local Service Center, actively support and challenge the roll-out of ALPS together with the local Service Center Manager and Quality Development Manager, nurturing an environment which enables the service center to follow the four priorities: Sustainability, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
This is truly a collaborative role, located in Houston, TX reporting to the Director of Service Operations.
In This Role You Will
- Coordinate the deployment and roll out of the Lean Transformational Projects with Service Center Team, including developing, deploying, and sustaining lean manufacturing processes
- Identify, create, and sustain standard processes throughout the organization
- Identify process improvement opportunities in collaboration with other functional leaders, employees and customers and categorize opportunities as improvement vs action activities, projects, or kaizen events.
- Facilitate lean daily management, promote initiatives to create Lean culture
- Support both process and transactional productivity improvement or waste reduction projects
- Act as a Project Manager in Lean Transformational Projects
- Provide service center management and employees an awareness, knowledge and guidance of Alfa Laval Production System and Lean Six Sigma principles, methodologies, and tools to support achievement of business objectives.
- Organize and run Alfa Laval Production System trainings in the Service Centers (across US Service Center locations), ensure competence development program is set and being implemented

What You Know - Bachelor's Degree Required in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Electrical Engineering or 5-7 years relevant and progressive technical experience in a service or manufacturing environment
- Hands on experience using advanced continuous improvement methods (Lean / TPM / Six Sigma / DMAIC) both as a team member and team leader
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in lean manufacturing as a continuous improvement leader, lean lead, black belt, green belt, or similar role
- Proven experience as Kaizen Facilitator
- Experience in driving service or manufacturing transformation projects as a Project Lead
- Advanced knowledge and the ability to teach VSM, 5S, 5Why, TPM, Standard Work, Process Mapping, Kanban, Types of Waste & Waste Reduction, Visual Management, Lean line Manufacturing, DMAIC cycles
- Competent in Lean Six Sigma (minimum on Green Belt level)
Other Requirements Up to 10% travel to visit service centers within the US may be required to observe processes and make recommendations for improvement or standardization.
