NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Contracts Coordinator based in our Charlotte, North Carolina office.

This person is responsible for drafting and administration of rights and clearance-related agreements and other production or legal documents as requested by the department, including, without limitation, location releases, appearance releases, etc..

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Gathers information around upcoming production shoots and drafts any necessary releases.
  • Analyzes, drafts, edits, prepares, and (under attorney supervision) negotiates standard and non-standard contracts for execution.
  • Works directly with Legal Counsel to determine the validity of contracts and the level of priority, ensuring the timely processing and execution of all contracts.
  • Manages contract database which tracks all legal agreements that are submitted to the Legal Department for NASCAR.
  • Assists in tracking all Rights & Clearances requests/status, payments and completion of projects.
  • Manages contract process from initiation through execution.
  • Serves as a liaison between Legal Department and NASCAR business units.
  • Audits legal files prior to closing to ensure proper documentation is included and proper procedures are followed for contract processing.
  • Answers and appropriately handles inquiries regarding contract status and, as appropriate, other legal issues.
  • Works directly with Sr. Director and/or Legal Counsel to implement policies and procedures regarding contract processing.
  • Responsible for learning and integrating technology and systems used within the Legal Department.
  • Provides support as needed for ad-hoc projects.
  • Approximately 5% travel
  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Required skills / experience:
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university; and Entry (0-2 years related) experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to write correspondence using persuasive and cogent techniques or style.
  • Ability to effectively communicate on controversial or complex topics to management.
  • Advanced skills on Company provided hardware and software and ability to effectively work with all software used by the legal department, including Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word and track changes, Excel and PowerPoint), iManage, SharePoint.
  • Analytical, negotiation, organization, detail oriented, time management, multi-tasking, prioritization.
