Volt is hiring for a Cost Engineer in the Tipton/Muscatine, Iowa area.
As a Cost Engineer, you will analyze and estimate costs for engineering projects. You will use your financial expertise, analytical skills, and project management knowledge to develop accurate cost estimates for different project components.
Additional duties may include:
- Forecasting: Predicting potential costs and monitoring the early stages of development to identify risks and evaluate the project's chances of success
- Researching: Conducting research to forecast project costs
- Writing: Writing estimation reports for the project manager
- Collaborating: Working with team members to make decisions about resource allocation
- Planning: Creating budgets and contributing to keeping the team on schedule
- Analyzing: Analyzing project plans, materials, labor requirements, and other factors to determine the overall cost of a project
- Controlling: Controlling the cost of various supplies and materials to provide insight into how to allocate and manage resources
- Reporting: Providing cost analysis, controls, and report activities for projects
This is a
full-time, direct-hire opportunity.
Job Requirements - Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred
- 10 or more years of experience with cost engineering
- Ability to study a part, or blueprint of a part, and determine the best method to produce
- Experience identifying all costs associated with the production process of parts (i.e. power consumption of machine, maintenance of machine, labor cost, etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with different departments and stakeholders
- Knowledge of steel machinery manufacturing
- Innovative mindset
Salary Range: $65,000 - 75,000 per year*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
