Job Summary

This Maintenance Crew Leader Trainee - 2nd Shift opportunity is responsible for the supervision of assigned maintenance crew members ensuring safety, maintenance repairs, and company policies are executed to company standards. This includes effective response to abnormal conditions, leading problem-solving activities to bring the performance of each process up to standard and supporting continuous improvement efforts in their area. The Maintenance Crew Leader will actively assist in maintenance repairs working with subordinates.

The Maintenance Crew Leader is expected to ensure that safety remains a primary concern for all crew members, including the oversight of lock-out/tag-out and hot work programs. They will assign and direct work of all crew members in the safe and effective execution of maintenance plans. This individual will train and develop each crew member in standardized work using Job-Instruction-Training (JIT) methods. The Maintenance Crew Leader will monitor the work performance of each crew member and provide strong coaching and counseling. They will identify opportunities for continuous improvement along with constructive support for improvement initiatives. They will also apply effective worksite communication and active listening skills with their crew members.

The Maintenance Crew Leader position is a salaried non-exempt position where they punch into the Kronos timeclock system subject to overtime rules but receive benefits according to the salaried employee criteria. Some travel is possible, but it would be minimal.
