RTI International is seeking part-time data collectors on the state-sponsored research study called the Michigan PFAS Exposure and Health Study (MiPEHS). This important health study seeks to understand the impact of the Michigan resident's exposure to per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) on their physical health.
In Michigan, the Belmont/Rockford area and the City of Parchment/Cooper Township area had drinking water samples with elevated PFAS levels when testing in 2018. Since this initial testing, the study has conducted a health survey, anthropometric measures (i.e. blood pressure, weight, and height), and blood samples from eligible sample members to better understand the impact of PFAS exposure on health.
In 2023, this study conducted in-person household outreach to enroll participants.
