RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Warren, MI that is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer. This company is an automotive manufacturer who brings engineering, technology, and design together to create innovative vehicles, energy solutions, and in-vehicle services. This role is required to be onsite (minimum) Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.Summary:This person is a fully qualified contributor who has thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the department. The Embedded Software Engineer will have a focus for executing System Safety development for Body Controls, Occupant Protection, as well as other vehicle system safety domains. They will interact with the global product teams to ensure safety requirements are met according to the System Safety Process and industry standards. The Embedded Software Engineer will lead system safety level engineering across vehicle Systems. They will lead risk analyses, develop safe solutions, identity/mitigate potential safety issues, and assist program teams to develop Systems free from unreasonable risk.Responsibilities:- Develop safety requirements for Body Controls, Occupant Protection, and other Vehicle Systems
- Decompose the top-level system functions, and behaviors into a set of safety requirements that detail expected end-to-end system behavior to implement a holistic safety strategy
- Employ varied analysis techniques including hazard analysis, fault tree analysis, interface analysis, FMEA, software safety analysis, as applicable
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or another related Engineering degree
- 5-7 years of related experience
- 5+ years of post-graduation engineering experience in engineering product development
- Possess a broad technical knowledge, training and understanding combined with creative and independent thinking and conceptual ability to related work performed within their department
- Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components
- Basic knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery
- Basic ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software
- Solid programming experience in C or C++
- Knowledge of computer development software as it relates to embedded systems, such as SQL, VisualBasic, etc.
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
