Engineer- Manufacturing/ Process / Industrial II

Alabama

Contract Position

Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize manufacturing systems for advanced space propulsion systems using state-of-the-art processes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, operators, vendors, and tool developers to automate workflows and enhance production efficiency.
• Lead manufacturing-related projects and provide production support in areas such as scheduling, budget forecasting, defect analysis, and capacity planning.
• Drive process improvements using Lean techniques, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, and process mapping.
• Facilitate operations improvement through ergonomic studies, recovery planning, and system integration with a focus on facility layout and production system design.

Qualifications:

• Education: BS in Operations Research, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing production environment.
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in factory flow, process modeling, and simulations.
  • Expertise in data mining and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives and value stream mapping.
• Clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen, national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Operations Management, Construction Management, MSE, and/or MBA.
  • Rocket engine manufacturing experience.
  • Project Management Certification (PMP) or Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
  • Experience transitioning development projects to production.
  • Hands-on experience with materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in manned space flight production.
