• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience using an electronic work order management system.
• Experience working independently and ability to be self-motivated.
• Work experience in apartments, residence halls, or hotel maintenance.

Job Description:

The Facilities Maintenance Worker I will perform basic maintenance and repair work on university housing facilities, assisting with the completion of the room make-readies and completion of preventative maintenance work orders. They participate as a Department of Housing and Residential Life Facilities Maintenance team member in providing noteworthy customer service to students, staff, and guests. This position will report to a head maintenance worker.

Job Duties:

• Repair, replace, and maintain existing fixtures, equipment, and furniture.
• Identify necessary parts and maintain building inventory
• Perform building inspections and complete preventative maintenance work orders.
• Assess, update, and promptly complete work orders assigned by the supervisor or crew leader.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills with residents, guests, and team members.
• Perform all physical aspects of assigned duties, including stooping, reaching, climbing, and lifting to 50 pounds
• Perform other duties as assigned
