Human Resources Generalist

The Human Resources Generalist will focus on maintaining the HCM system (Workday) and assisting with employee relations in a rapidly growing factory operation. This role will involve supporting both skilled laborers and office staff, ensuring accurate HR data management, and addressing employee concerns in a timely and effective manner. The ideal candidate will have experience fostering strong relationships with business partners to support HR initiatives and enjoy providing hands-on assistance to employees in a dynamic factory environment.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and manage employee data (Workday): Ensure accurate, up-to-date employee records by regularly auditing and updating the system. Collaborate with supervisors to ensure timely approvals on workflows such as time-off requests, performance evaluations, and employee status changes, while troubleshooting and resolving system-related issues for seamless HR operations.

  • Support employee relations and performance management: Provide guidance on employee relations, including conflict resolution, performance improvement, and disciplinary actions. Coach employees on career development and managers on handling performance reviews, feedback, and development plans. Ensure all employee relations are conducted fairly, consistently, and in compliance with legal standards.

  • Drive employee engagement and retention initiatives: Facilitate ongoing communication between managers and employees, supporting efforts to enhance engagement, retention, and performance. Contribute to projects aimed at improving these programs.

  • Collaborate on claims and leave administration: Partner with EHS and Leave Departments to manage Workers Compensation and leave claims (STD, FMLA, LTD, Paternity), ensuring timely, accurate processing and communication with stakeholders.

  • Support process improvements: Contribute to ongoing process improvements within the HR Department to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Assist with training programs: Help prepare and administer various employee training programs to support development and compliance.

  • Provide payroll support: Serve as backup for weekly timecard reviews ensure accuracy and timeliness during absences.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or services based work environment
  • 3+ years of HR experience supporting a business with a large, diverse workforce
  • Knowledge of employment laws and other government compliance regulations
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • 2+ Years HRIS Experience with a strong preference for experience with Work Day
  • Attention to detail and excellent Time Management skills

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or other related degree preferred

PREFERRED SKILLS/CERTIFICATION:
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Proficiency in running reports in Excel
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR or SHRM-CP) certification preferred
