Position Title: Inserting Operator (Mail Room Operator) Locations: Troy, MI 48084
Anticipated Start Date: 11/15
Expected Duration: 3 Months
Job Type: Contract with possible extension
Shift: 8:30am - 5:00pm, Saturday thru Wednesday
Pay Rate: $18/hr on W2
NEED : Experience with Mail Inserting/Digital Print.

Job Description:
Position Purpose: Operate and maintain an inserter to produce mail pieces and prepare mailing for the Post Office. Inspect pieces during production and make adjustments to keep machines running.

We start the day turning on and calibrating equipment. Our day-to-day work load on the inserting machines is similar from one to the next. We then check in with the rest of the team to see if there are any priorities for the day and then get to work. The job of inserting requires loading of printed materials into a machine that will fold documents, insert them into an envelope, seal the envelope and then it is the operator's responsibility to load the sealed documents into a mail tray, apply a protective sleeve, and stack the loaded trays neatly on a skid. Each job sealed is then marked as 'done' within our system. At days end, the completed skids are shrink wrapped and prepared for our morning pick up, the following day.

We are concerned with quality over quantity. Proper loading and unloading of documents as well as the documentation of the work.
Punctuality and reliability

A background in digital print, mailing, and distribution is highly desired. A background in a manufacturing environment can translate well.

Preferred Skills/ Experience:
Mail Inserter experience
Digital print experience

Education Requirement: High School Diploma

Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. 1+ year experience working in a mail production facility operating a mechanical inserter. Experience with USPS postal regulations strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:
* Produce mail-pieces using automated inserting technology.
* Operate folding machines, cutter and bindery equipment.
* Operate machines that insert printed matter, such as letters or booklets into envelopes.
* Maintain equipment using provided maintenance schedule.
* Maintain optimal level of productivity.
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for a long period of time.
