The Inside Sales Representative engages with current and prospective customers through electronic communications to sell programs and services. This role involves developing and following up on leads, making customer retention and service calls, and identifying customer needs via phone and other electronic channels. The representative provides accurate service quotes tailored to property size and customer requirements. They drive sales revenue by acquiring new customers, cross-selling, and upselling existing ones. By understanding customer needs, they develop customized service solutions and promote Senske products and programs. The position may specialize in residential or commercial sales.

Salary: $55,000 - $75,000 per year (hourly base & commission)

Position Description

The essential duties of this position include the following:

  • Engage with customers to assess their needs, provide cost estimates, and prepare service bids. Utilizes phone and electronic communication to sell programs and services to current and prospective customers. Finalizes sales and coordinates service appointments.
  • Measures property with appropriate tools to ensure utmost accuracy in the quoting process.
  • Adheres to established procedures and guidelines to effectively promote and sell Senske products and services within a designated geographic area, product range, or customer account list. Utilizes available resources and tools to meet sales targets and achieve promotion program goals.
  • Updates call records, account statuses, and customer feedback in the CRM system while maintaining organized account records and programs. Creates and manages lists of prospective customers using information from direct mail campaigns, advertising efforts, community events, and other sources as sales leads.
  • Prepares and maintains proper sales reports.
  • Performs retention and service calls, ensuring compliance with company retention standards.
  • Reaches out to customers to assess their satisfaction after service completion and provides assistance by addressing their questions and concerns.
  • Works to resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service. Analyzes and distributes new sale cancellation requests to retain customers.
  • Other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years of outside sales experience, preferably in lawn/horticulture/pest field. Training or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including experience as a technician, is acceptable.
  • Must pass lawn application licensing tests in the state in which the position is selling. May be required to take additional testing depending on services that the position will sell to customers.
  • Possesses excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel, along with data entry capabilities using mobile devices.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing, and consultative sales abilities, coupled with excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of selling techniques (prospecting, overcoming objections, closing sales).
  • Ability to build customer relationships and provide customer service.
  • Mathematical skill to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, proportions, percentages, area and volume.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and travel locally on an extensive basis.
  • Time management skills, including punctuality for on-time attendance.
  • Ability to define customer problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Highly motivated to complete tasks within a time frame.
  • Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills.
  • Valid state driver's license from state of residence within 30 days of hire, and a clean driving record per company standards.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older by date of hire.
