Job Description:
The Nebraska Crime Commission is looking for an Investigations Instructor for their Law Enforcement Training Center to instruct and assist in all aspects of law enforcement training from Basic Certification to Advanced Specialized Training. Additionally, may be required to conduct law enforcement license revocation investigations.

Job Duties: The law enforcement instructor candidate will be required to research, design, develop, deliver and evaluate training according to protocols established by the Training Center. This training is directed toward the law enforcement profession. Other duties as assigned within the scope of the classification.

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Two years post-secondary education in law enforcement, criminal justice or education plus five years full-time experience as a law enforcement officer with a law enforcement agency. Must be a certified law enforcement officer.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree; experience conducting training as a Law Enforcement Training Officer or Supervisor. Five (5) years or more of full-time law enforcement experience.

Other: Law Enforcement Certificate must be active or eligible for reactivation or reciprocity. Experience in uniformed traffic, vehicle stops, and emergency vehicle operations is preferred along with Standardized Field Sobriety Testing experience and DUI Enforcement. Successful candidate must be able to pass a law enforcement background investigation, including a polygraph examination. Regular and reliable attendance is required. This position requires in state travel. As such, the incumbent must be able to present a valid driver's license or another form of reliable transportation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The successful candidate must have experience in conducting law enforcement training with emphasis on all aspects uniformed traffic operations along with other general law enforcement related subjects. The person selected must also be either certified in or be willing to obtain certifications in Interview and Interrogation, crime scene investigation, narcotic investigations, Tactics, and be able to work in all weather conditions and remain on feet for extended periods of time.
