You have completed a High School Diploma plus a minimum of 2 years of experience, with HS Chem courses. Prefer AS Degree plus a minimum of 2 years of experience with college level Chemistry courses for Chem Lab positions. You may have also acquired the following skills:

• Corrosion autoclave experience will be favored.
• Experience with and aptitude to set up and operate an Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) machine is highly preferred
  
• Perform physical/mechanical, chemical and/or radiographic analysis on materials, products, components, etc., using various laboratory equipment and instruments and performs quality checks and data summaries.
  
• Prepares and analyzes samples utilizing established laboratory practices and documented procedures and keep lab equipment, supplies and work areas clean and organized.
  
• Receives samples and inputs information and test requests into system database.
  
• Maintain, calibrate, and operate laboratory equipment.
• Troubleshoot complex test machines and equipment.
• Keep lab equipment, supplies and work areas clean and organized.

You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As a Lab Specialist in Lynchburg, VA, you will be part of the proven team in the Chemistry Material Center (CMC) in the Installed Base Business Unit. Your work will include:

• Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) Operator, among other CMC lab function duties.
• You will be working in a team environment performing analytical chemistry assignments and sample production tasks using state-of art lab equipment serving the nuclear plant market.
• Perform routine laboratory tasks and may perform complex tasks under the direction of a chemist and record/report results.
• Follows and writing standard operating procedures and aids to ensure quality results are produced safely.
• May be required to work with and around radioactive and/or corrosive chemicals and must wear the appropriate personal protective equipment as required.

Framatome's Installed Base (IB) Business Unit is responsible for all types of services and maintenance activities for commercial nuclear operating plants. The IB NDE Solutions Business Group (IBN-A) manages specialty NDE inspections, steam generator services, chemistry & chemical application services, and Balance of Plant (BOP) repair services and sales activity for primarily the US nuclear market.

Your Total Rewards Package

The range of base salary for the position is between $24 - $30.77 per hour, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
