The Lead Analyst, Market & Business Insights - BPA develops & supervises business/operational performance, and analysis reports, as well as gathers/analyses competitor intelligence, and delivers insights reports on specific market/technology trends.
Schedule and Location:
- The position has a hybrid work schedule consisting of Tuesday through Thursday in the office. Monday and Friday provide the option to work remotely or from the office.
- This open role is located at our modern ten-story corporate headquarters in Spring, Texas.
What You Will Do: - Develops/supervise & verify periodical business/operational intelligence dashboards/reports. These dashboards/reports monitor/assess operational/business performance including but not limited to market share, business plan KPIs etc.
- Develop & maintain,
- New business/operational intelligence dashboards/reports.
- Monthly & bi-annual competitor landscape & opportunities/threats analysis reports.
- Library of business/operational intelligence highlights/insights one-page reports including their analysis models.
- Conduct general industry, technology, and macroeconomics research / analysis to identify trends and summarize as research notes for internal distribution.
- Support the development of the World and ABS outlook models, and the annual corporate business plan.
- Stay actively informed and continuously aim to broaden/deepen the level of knowledge and expertise.
What You Will Need: Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent in Engineering (Hull or Machinery).
- Master's degree in Business Administration or Data Sciences.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in survey/engineering/business development/analytics roles in the maritime & offshore industries.
- Programing experience in R or Python and statistical analysis required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Commercial awareness of the maritime & offshore industries gained from field experience in Asia/Europe desired.
- Demonstrated analytical skills, including the ability to synthesize data and generate reports with a concise and user-friendly format.
- Flair for striking the right balance between effort and impact, including a pragmatic approach to simplifying the tasks at hand without compromising integrity.
- Ability to think "beyond models and numbers" and understand how model results translate into real-life insights - including an intuitive understanding of what can, and what cannot, be derived from a given set of model results.
- Ability to supervise, guide and advise analysts through demonstrated project management skills.
- Proactive and self-motivated, able to manage timelines and prioritize tasks.
- Obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management System.
Reporting Relationships: Reports directly to the Vice President of Business Planning and Analysis.
