Caterpillar's Resource Industries Operations and Products Division is currently seeking a Logistics Engineer for its East Peoria, IL facility. In this role, you will take ownership of the kitting processes, leading efforts to optimize material flow and ensure operational excellence. While working closely with our 3PL partners who manage day-to-day tasks, you will oversee the processes and provide detailed analysis to drive efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement.

This independent contributor position focuses on process ownership, problem-solving, and strategic planning rather than direct supervision. You will work to meet Caterpillar's goals in People/Safety, Quality, Velocity, and Cost and play a key role in the success of our operations. Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
• Oversee and own the kitting processes, ensuring seamless integration across operations.
• Ensure the timely availability of kits at the point of use (POU) by dynamically aligning production schedules with material flow and planning requirements.
• Monitor and analyze data and key metrics to identify trends, improve workflows, and resolve inefficiencies.
• Collaborate with 3PL partners to ensure adherence to Caterpillar's standards and policies.
• Support supply chain planning activities, including forecasting, process alignment, and schedule adherence.
• Develop and implement process improvements to achieve goals in safety, quality, velocity, and cost.
• Act as a liaison between internal teams and 3PL providers to ensure process consistency and material readiness.
• Contribute to cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing material handling, inventory management, and logistics operations.

Top Candidates Will Have:

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain/business from an accredited college or university

• Prior experience in SAP Mach1

• Previous experience in other Logistics/Supply Chain roles

• Demonstrated understanding of factory material flow and assembly production operations

• Knowledge of NPI and Engineering Change Processes

• Strong technical and data analysis skills

• Strong customer focus and ability to influence

• Experience using computers and Microsoft Office programs

Degree Requirement:

Inventory Management:
• Performs the receiving, ticketing, checking in and distributing of inventory items for a specific location.
• Produces basic inventory management reports for senior staff to reconcile the inventory balances.
• Tracks inventory information for a specific product group or location.
• Works with basic tasks of inventory management for a specific location.
• Follows processes to take stock, release inventory or return into processing; resolves discrepancies.

Additional Information:

• The primary location for this position is East Peoria, IL (SS)
• On-site 5 days per week required

• Domestic relocation assistance is not available

• This position may require 5% travel

Summary Pay Range:
$79,800.00 - $119,760.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
