Job Summary: We are looking for an individual who can collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, prove problem-solving skills, and show commitment to optimizing manufacturing processes. Candidates must be accustomed to working with materials such as carbon steel (HRS and CRS), alloy steel, stainless steel, plastics (UHMW, Acetal, ABS, polycarbonate), and aluminum. As a machinist, your purpose within the organization is to produce work that stands alongside our quality assurance policy. Practical communication skills and a passion for staying updated with industry trends are also highly valued. As a Machinist you will:
• Read blueprints - joints, material size and type, finishes, symbols, weld call outs, significance, tolerances, and special call outs. • Set up chuck, vise(s) and/or fixture for holding work on machine. • Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data. • Accurately document program, set-up, run time, and total time to Travelers. • Utilize specific, backed-up folders for storing program data. • Successfully and appropriately use pneumatic tools - 90-degree mini grinder, straight mini grinder. • Use a micrometer when measuring. • Set up and operate lathes or mills, keep machines/work areas clean and clutter-free. • Stay aware of square, perpendicularity, parallelism, flatness, and tolerances when setting up parts or weldments. • Use Dial Calipers, Machinist's Square, Combination Square, 1-2-3 and/or 2-4-6 blocks, Tape Measure • Monitor and review information from materials, events, or the environment to detect or assess problems. • Responsible for demonstrating concern for the safety of self and others. • Carefully stay within Blueprint tolerances (Typically .010" to .030") • Deburr all parts coming off the machine and before handing it off to another department. • Safely Use electric tools - 4" grinder, 8" grinder, drill press, hand drill, sanders, pedestal grinders, and hone tools. • Use CNC codes to operate machines.
This is a full time opportunity
The ideal candidate will have:
• Safety protocol experience. • 5+ years of experience running CNC mills / lathes. • Experience and use of Zimmermann FZ-35 5-axis CNC bridge mill with Heidenhain control interface. • Experience and use of DMG Mori NLX 2500/1250 with live tooling and secondary spindle.
Preferred experience: • 10+ years of machining in a manufacturing environment. • Experience working on a variety of projects while being adaptive
Skills and Abilities: • Able to read, write, and count accurately to complete all documentation. • Proficiency in various machining materials, including but not limited to carbon steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel. • Demonstrated ability to learn new skills and follow written procedures. • Competence in operating CNC machines, bench sanders and grinders, lathes, mill machines, band saw, and cold saw. • Experience working with 1/16" - 4" thickness plate, up to 12" Diameter or 12" Square Bar or tubing. • Able to mount cutting tools per CNC programs/instructions. • Strong capability of using practical judgment. • Demonstrates initiative, high motivation to excel, self-starter, and adaptability. • Experience using pneumatic, electrical, and hand tools. • Be courteous of others, including input on machining subject matter. • Ability to meet deadlines. • Familiar with CNC Mastercam or other manufacturing and design software. • Precision and ability to pay attention to detail. • Familiarity with industry codes and regulations. • Able to lift up to 49 lbs. • Familiar with lifting equipment for lifting over 49 lbs
Qualifications Education: • High School Diploma/GED required for the position.
Pay rate $30.00-33.00/hr
