Job Summary
The technician will be primarily responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of critical equipment including scales, tablets, PCs, network switches, servers, and cameras. This role is vital to ensuring that all technology used for production tracking, inventory management, and surveillance operates smoothly, minimizing downtime and ensuring efficient facility operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scales Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Ensure that all scales used for weighing poultry are calibrated, functioning correctly, and integrated with the facility's inventory and production systems. Troubleshoot any issues related to scale data collection or connectivity.
  • Tablet and PC Support: Install, configure, and maintain tablets and desktop computers used by staff in various departments (production, logistics, quality control). Ensure they are running the necessary software applications and are properly connected to the network.
  • Network Switch Management: Maintain and troubleshoot network switches, ensuring stable and reliable network connections for all devices across the facility. Address any issues related to network outages or device connectivity.
  • Server Support: Monitor and maintain the facility's server systems, ensuring that all data is securely backed up and that the servers support operational needs. Troubleshoot any server hardware or software issues promptly.
  • CCTV Camera System Maintenance: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of CCTV cameras throughout the facility. Ensure cameras are properly positioned, functioning, and capturing necessary footage for security and quality control.
  • System Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and resolve any IT-related issues across the facility, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. This includes hardware failures, software malfunctions, and network issues.
  • Software Support: Provide support for any software used with the equipment (scales, tablets, cameras, etc.), ensuring it is up to date and functioning correctly. Assist in software installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate records of all equipment maintenance, repairs, and software updates. Ensure inventory tracking for technology equipment, including scales, tablets, PCs, servers, and cameras.
  • Collaboration and Reporting: Work closely with production and management to identify technological needs and improvements. Provide regular reports on the status of systems and any issues encountered or resolved.

Qualifications
  • Education: Associates degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in IT support, with a focus on hardware (scales, tablets, PCs, servers) and network devices (switches). Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of hardware components, especially scales, tablets, PCs, and servers.
    • Experience with network switches and connectivity troubleshooting.
    • Proficient in managing and maintaining CCTV systems.
    • Basic understanding of networking protocols and troubleshooting.

  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Work Environment
  • The role is based in a poultry processing facility, with both office and production floor environments. Overtime may be required to resolve technical issues or implement system upgrades.

Travel: Minimum 1-5 trips per year outside of assigned location.
