SUMMARY:

Performs maintenance duties necessary to maintain building components such as windows, screens, blinds, shades, carpet, tile floors, ceiling tiles; assists customers with hanging items securely on office walls.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct Responsibilities

  • Repair window screens to include framework and re-screening
  • Measure/custom fit/install blinds and shades
  • Repair all types of floor finishes as well as take-off and layout entire rooms for new installations
  • Install ceiling tile and grid (both repair and new installations)
  • Install and/or replace bathroom hardware and partitions
  • Assemble shelves and furniture as well as install keyboard trays
  • Research materials/products needed to complete tasks
  • Replace door closers and retrofit as needed
  • Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of assigned vehicle
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT:
  • Will be exposed to loud noise (equipment) and product fumes (stains, paints, etc.) in the shop or on work sites.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Physically capable of working while bending, stooping, kneeling.
  • Capable of working in all types of weather conditions such as rain, flooding, snow, ice, hot and cold temperatures.

  • All Facilities employees are expected to comply with safety standards and demonstrate safe work habits.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Requires a general knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the building trades (construction, repair and maintenance)
  • Requires a general knowledge of workplace safety and other OSHA workplace regulations, the application of appropriate building codes, compliance with safety standards and demonstration of safe work habits
  • Requires a thorough knowledge of proper fasteners and fastening methods as they relate to securing building finishes properly
  • Must demonstrate confidentiality as necessary.
  • Required knowledge of the safe use and operation of hand and power tools while following safety guidelines.
  • REQUIRED: Must have a valid Driver's License and be able to produce a driving record with a minimum of 3 years of driving history in good standing.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of five years' experience working with access control in an institutional or commercial setting.
Work Hours:
  • Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; 8 hours a day; 40 hours per week; flexibility required.
  • All Facilities employees are designated as essential personnel, and are also subject to work outside the normal work schedule on an emergency basis, and are also subject to planned overtime work as required by the supervisor.
SALARY STRUCTURE:

Pay Grade 3 (Hiring Range $16.81 to $19.75 per hour)
