About the Role:
The Finance Operations Group of Everest Insurance, a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd. is looking for an Manager, Insurance Accounting to join our Warren, NJ office to support and manage the Insurance Program Administrator Accounting team to onboard new programs and manage existing programs. Ensuring monthly accounting, cash management and reporting by program administrators are timely and adhere to the program administrator agreements. Liaison with Finance, Operation, program administrators, internal and external auditors with emphasis on a strong internal control environment. Perform annual operational audits of program administrators.
Role & Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- Ensure review and approval of TPA funding, fee payments and perform analysis and mapping changes as per agreed contractual terms.
- Review and sign off reconciliations related TPA Claims Adjustments , Escrow accounts and Suspense accounts.
- Supporting preparation and review of financial close journals including accruals, TPA adjustments, Intercompany, reclasses, quota shares and others.
- Maintain high level of internal controls and ensure all key controls are documented and performed timely and that all accounts are reconciled. Liaison with both internal and external auditors.
- Regular monitoring and resolution of balances in Deposit and Disbursement suspense while working with internal and external stakeholders.
- Partner with Operations, Claims, TPA's and finance to onboard new TPA's, including performing a due diligence and ensuring compliance with Everest's accounting and reporting standards.
- Assist with developing and maintaining monthly key performance indicator reporting to finance leadership.
- Provide oversight over the Claims TPA team. Identify and execute on process improvement opportunities while exploring technology and streamlining processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting or CPA.
- 5- 10 years of experience in the insurance industry.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
- Extensive Internal/External Audit experience.
- Possess high level analytical and technical communication skills (verbal and written).
- Excellent technology skills (Advance -Excel, Power BI, Oracle) and demonstrated ability to work with large data sets.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage time and be able to multitask in an ever-changing environment.
- Focus on solving problems, change management experience and positive attitude and exceeding customer expectations.
- Operate effectively in a culture that promotes collaboration, execution, humility, thoughtfulness, and leadership.
- Able to thrive under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of personal accountability.
