SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Associate II will work under the direct supervision of the Production Supervisor and will monitor assigned machines to ensure molded parts meet quality standards. This includes removing parts from injection molding machines and visually inspecting parts for defects.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Removes parts from the injection molding machine by hand or from the parts chute.
* Visually inspects parts for pre-prescribed defects using the naked eye. May correct certain defects (such as flash) using trim tools.
* Assemble subcomponents.
* Assemble shipping cartons.
* Package finished parts in storage containers or shipping cartons as directed.
* Product count when applicable, scrap sheets and properly identifying contents.
* May relieve other operators for lunch and breaks.
* Perform other duties as may be periodically assigned by the Shift Supervisor or Lead.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

* A high school diploma or equivalent, e.g., vocational training, is required.
* Familiarity with standard manufacturing practices and equipment, is required.
* Experience in quality assurance (QA) and regulatory compliance, is required.
* Experience in the medical industries or molding businesses preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

* None

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
* Conversational in any other language preferred.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

* Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers.

JOB SKILLS

* Good communication, and written skills
* Basic knowledge of Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and the 5S Methodology.
* Dependable and willing to work overtime when necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee will regularly engage in activities such as using hands to finger, handle, or feel and communicating verbally. Additionally, the employee will frequently need to reach with hands and arms while standing and walking as part of the role. Occasional lifting and movement of objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds may be required. This position also demands specific vision capabilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. According to ADA regulations, reasonable accommodation will be provided to ensure that individuals with disabilities can perform the job's essential functions.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

* ASTM F-2412-2005, ANSI Z41-1999, or ANSI Z41-1991 rated safety toe shoes in specific areas.
* Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety-rated glasses in specific areas.
* Hearing protection in specific locations.
* Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas.

SALARY INFORMATION

In compliance with CA state law, the hourly range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00 per hour. However, this salary information is merely a general guideline. When extending an offer, Amphenol CMT considers various factors such as the position's responsibilities, scope of work, candidate's work experience, education/training, essential skills, internal pay equity, and market considerations.
