Job Title:Marketing and Communications AssociateDepartment:Engineering | Computer Science and Engineering

This position serves as the Communications and Public Relations Associate for both the Institute for Cybersecurity and Digital Trust (ICDT) and the Department of Engineering Education (EED). The associate reports to the Managing Director of ICDT with a dotted line reporting to the Chair for Academic Affairs within EED.

Works closely with ICDT Faculty and Associate Directors, and other faculty and staff serving as the coordinator of communications from the Institute and as scheduling coordinator for the various Directors. Serves the communication and marketing needs of faculty, staff, and students within EED, a department in the College of Engineering.

Serves as coordinator of communications for ICDT/EED to increase the both unit's visibility by planning, managing and executing news and information strategies and timelines, developing and executing marketing plans, developing content and outlines of materials to be shared with different stakeholder groups, assisting in the development and maintenance of publications, coordinating all public relations and communications activities for ICDT/EED including development of electronic and print materials.

Serves as content writer and publisher for ICDT/EED. Works with faculty, staff, students, and researchers to write and distribute news releases and prepare information for professional dissemination, coordinates and designs/produces educational and promotional graphics and displays; creates, edits, and procures annual reports, newsletters, brochures, posters, promotional flyers, acts as a liaison with media personnel within the College and University. Works with ETS and ICDT/EED staff to update webpages; collects and edits web content; and creates posts to social media.

Supports the response to program inquiries and co-drafts correspondence to prospective member institutions or faculty and students; assists with program evaluation; develops, implements, and collects surveys, maintains records, assists in preparing progress reports; Attends all Institute/EED meetings; monitors and executes action items; tracks and maintains periodic report data; supports recruitment activities and student program records; works independently on projects as assigned by the Directors and EED leadership.

Assists with ICDT/EED with internal communications, such as agendas for committee meetings, and describing special events to stakeholders such as but not limited to: Strategic Advisory Board, Industry Symposium, Town Halls, Research Symposium, and Student Networking events. Coordinates the communications and collaborates with development personnel to develop relationships with Corporate Consortium members.

Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience plus 2 years of experience in marketing, communications or public relations.

Desired:

demonstrated ability to work with a high level of autonomy; knowledge of social media trends; detail-oriented with excellent communication and organizational skills; experience with fundraising or in a fund-raising environment;

experience in writing, editing, publicity, marketing, publication production and disseminating news releases; digital graphic design experience

Additional Information:

The target hiring range for this job profile is $51,000 - $67,000, paid monthly. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
