POSITION SUMMARY:

Safely facilitates the movement of finished and unfinished material through the manufacturing and production process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reviews work orders or follows verbal instructions to move pallets and containers from machines.

  • Loads/unloads material onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand.
  • Moves material from storage or work sites to designated areas. Ensures that operators have all the raw material to operate their equipment.
  • Stacks and assembles materials into bundles. Bands bundles.
  • Removes empty pallets from equipment.
  • Performs duties of Shipper/Receiver, as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Must be a trained and qualified forklift operator.
  • Ability to communicate in English.
  • Ability to use basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplying, dividing, and counting.
  • Ability to read and understand all safety operating procedures and to use all safety features of the equipment.
  • Knowledge of products manufactured or warehoused at the plant.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to use the required personal protective equipment at all times.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

One year of similar work experience.

Frequent standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted is required.

  • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • PPE hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety steel toe shoes are required.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
