What We're Looking For:
Barge Design Solutions is currently seeking to fill the position of Mechanical Engineering Associate, in our Dayton, OH office, to support the design of industrial, commercial, and healthcare projects in the Facilities Engineering Solution Center.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with project team members, client representatives, review agencies to provide a comprehensive project report or detailed design.
  • Prepares engineering and designs documents using computer assisted engineering and design software to generate 2D and 3D models and plans.
  • Assists in the analysis or preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, permits, and designs for project
  • Completes tasks in the areas of HVAC, plumbing, piping, fire protection, and utility system design
  • Performs routine manual calculations regarding piping design for liquids and gases such as calculation of pressure drop and pipe sizing, and the selection of valves and inline fittings
  • Coordinates with other disciplines including civil, architectural, structural, and mechanical engineering to complete detailed designs.
  • Participates in project site visits with other project team members as needed.
  • Participates in Construction Administration of projects by reviewing submittals, assisting engineers in responding to requests for information from contractors.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail.


Education & Experience Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam
  • At least 1 year of experience, preferred
  • Experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit is preferred
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret job-related manuals and documents
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal/communication and teamworking skills
  • Experience in building design/construction or related field a plus
