We've been engaged by a prestigous firm to identify a experienced trial Paralegal for an exciting opportunity to join our Medical Malpractice team. The successful candidate will handle all aspects of the litigation process from initial intake to trial attendance. The position involves extensive contact with clients and medical providers, and requires:
5+ years of litigation paralegal experience in the areas of medical malpractice, personal injury, or a combination of each;
Proficiency in applying the court rules and procedures in both state and federal courts;
Experience in reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing medical, financial, and other case-related documents and records;
Well-developed writing and research skills;
Experience drafting pleadings, discovery and correspondence;
The ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people;
The ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships;
The ability to work with limited supervision;
The ability to anticipate attorney needs, identifying problems and finding solutions;
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to prioritize a high-volume workload;
Experience in managing electronic and paper filing systems;
Experience preparing for and attending arbitration, mediation, and trial.
