The ability to work remotely within the United States may be available based on business need. This option is not available in the states of California, Colorado, Illinois, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Montana, Nebraska, New York, Oregon or Washington at this time.

What you will do:

As a Full Stack Developer at FirstEnergy, you will join a digital transformation team coding products that benefit our customers and day to day operations of our employees. You will be part of a team operating using the Agile methodology, CI/CD practices and iteratively deliver fully functional web and mobile applications.

  • You will design, build and deploy responsive and scalable full stack solutions that are focused on ease-of-use, task-driven functionality, and a consistent user experience across multiple devices and operating systems.
  • You will develop and migrate applications to Microsoft Azure as PaaS, our on-premises private cloud or mobile devices.
  • You will build high-quality production code and perform code reviews of code written by others
  • You will collaborate in our software engineering chapter driving awareness of development best practices, domain knowledge and new and leading-edge technologies
  • You will contribute to detailed architectural reviews and lead build and implementation efforts through to delivery using the latest technologies and cloud services
  • You will experiment with and learn new technologies, staying current with development trends.

What You Will Need to be Qualified:

  • You have a bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science or another related field with a minimum of 4 years technical engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, you will have 6 years of related experience.
  • Relevant experience includes, but is not limited to:
  • For Client-side development, you have solid working experience in Angular 10 or greater. (1+ years) Experience with Blazor is a plus.
  • You have advanced proficiency with coding in languages including, but not limited to C#/.Net Core.
  • You have hands on knowledge working in Unit testing frameworks (xUnit, nUnit, or similar)
  • You have advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • You have experience/knowledge using Azure DevOps or similar platforms like Gitlab or Jira to manage source code, manage developer tasks and bugs, and perform builds/deploys.
  • You have strong communication skills.
  • You have the ability and willingness to travel to company sites, work flexible hours, and be available for call-in and after-hours support (24/7 operations)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • Experience with Azure, AWS or GCP a plus
  • Experience with .NET MAUI and PWA is considered a plus.
  • Experience working with relational databases, non-relational databases and Entity Framework.
  • Deep understanding of technical strategies and architectures
  • Fluent in Microsoft development trends.
  • Hands on experience in large system implementations/projects that span multiple organizations and business units.
  • Deep understanding of application security
  • Experience with integration tools and best practices
  • Ability to coach and mentor other developers to grow your team's potential.
  • Technical SME and mentor across multiple squads or teams (enterprise)
  • Technical leadership experience of large, highly complex implementations
  • Proven ability to lead technical evaluations with the technical architects and implement new technologies.
