The on-call Collections Assistant is a part time position that will support work in Collections related to class visits and curricular use of the collection. The assistant will be responsible for locating and handling artworks in storage, moving and installing artwork, and helping to manage class visits. Additionally, they will provide collections care in support of class use, including location inventory management, preventative care, rehousing objects, cataloguing reference images, and recording object information.
Minimum requirements:
Must have previous experience handling art objects. A degree in or appreciation for fine art, art history, or museum studies is desirable.
There will be paid on-the-job training for this position which includes museum protocols, artwork handling, and cataloging procedures. A flexible schedule is key, as the calendar for class visits and related projects varies from week to week.
