Description

During the autumn, winter, and spring quarters of the 2023-24 academic year, the Humanities Collegiate Division and the Department of Romance Languages & Literatures may have part-time teaching opportunities in various courses of the Spanish Language curriculum.

Minimum qualifications are superior proficiency in Spanish according to ACTFL guidelines and a master's degree or equivalent in Hispanic linguistics or literature, second language pedagogy/acquisition, or a related field. Preference is given to applicants with a doctorate or equivalent. At least one year of experience teaching Spanish at the college or post-secondary level is also required. Responsibilities will include preparing and teaching seminar-style language courses using a highly interactive communicative approach, holding regularly scheduled office hours, and the preparing and grading of assignments and testing materials.

Depending on the curricular needs of the department, the successful candidate may teach between one and four courses per academic year. In 2023-24, the minimum per-course salary is $7,538. This position is not benefits eligible.
