Job Description PURPOSE AND SCOPE:Under general/limited supervision this position is responsible for multiple functions in Student Services. This position will provide advice and information to others. Ensures that all district policies/practices surrounding functions are carried out correctly by others. Typical duties may include information gathering and review, presentation of information in verbal or written form, some interpretation of information. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Provides general LSC-CyFair information, handles complaints, and answers caller or registration counter questions via phone, email and other forms of communicationFunctions as first response access point for all students providing information, direction and step-by-step instructions to students on self-service modules including admission, enrollment, registration and student records access and account status and related materialsResolves level 1 issues and level 1 escalations for student record support; refers level 2 adjustments and corrections to appropriate Student Success or Business Office personnel for proper resolutionAchieves high level of first issues resolutionSubmits knowledge base information to manager for review and distributionResponsible for accurate documentation and assignment for issues that must be routed back to various campus departments or functional teams for resolutionPossesses excellent knowledge of PeopleSoft Campus Solutions student records and LSC student portal, my Lonestar.edu Utilizes high degree of technical expertise in student self-service modules and sensitivity to customer issues and inquiriesActively participates in training sessionsMakes recommendations for change in current Admissions & Records support policies and procedures to managerAssist training of part-time specialist staff during enrollment peakResponsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skillsStrong organizational skillsCommitment to customer serviceAbility to work effectively with a wide variety of students from various socioeconomic and ethnic backgroundsResults-oriented and self-motivated personKnowledge of Microsoft OfficeAbility to work flexible hours PHYSICAL ABILITIES:The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS: Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipmentInterface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the positionWork is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or GED and at least 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Salary
