Direct Hire Payroll Specialist Opporunity in Gainesville, GA

Salary: 52k-62k Annually

Payroll Functions:

  • Editing time transactions, i.e., missed or incorrect punches
  • Notify supervisors of frequent offenders who are creating "punch exceptions"
  • Enters new hires and terminations in HRIS system in a timely manner and exports data from HRIS system to time system (Attendance on Demand)
  • Maintain integrity of employee data by entering and processing employee changes in a timely fashion to ensure all employees data is correct and up to date at all times
  • Work closely with supervisors and managers to finalize payroll accurately, in a timely manner, and with 100% accuracy to reduce manual pay checks
  • Monitor employee attendance and coordinate progressive discipline with HR Manager
  • Processes garnishments within the time restraints of the law
  • Set up employee deductions accurately and within the time frame to start them
  • Maintain the payroll instructions by updating if there are system changes or process changes
  • Ensures new hires are entered in a timely manner and ensure a time card is assigned on their first day of work

Qualifications:
  • Education - High school diploma or GED; Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred or two or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Specialized knowledge - Thorough working knowledge of computerized HRIS systems and time/attendance systems required. Experience with Proliant software preferred
  • Skills - Proficient in MS Office Applications
  • Other Abilities - Excellent communication skills required; excellent writing skills;
    • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and ethical practices
    • Ability to multi-task and work as a team player.
    • Must be self-motivated, able to take limited direction and work with limited supervision. Must be able to meet deadlines.
  • Experience - Minimum 2 to 3 years experience in a payroll/HR role
