ARS-Rescue Rooter has an opening for a Plumbing Service Manager for our service center. We offer a competitive compensation package and a full range of benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life and long-term disability insurance.
The Plumbing Service Manager is responsible for planning and management in the safe and efficient installation, repair and servicing of plumbing systems in new construction, commercial and/or residential settings. Utilizes human resources effectively to manage workload and job costs, achieve production and margin objectives and provide plumbing services to customers and contractors.

- Manages and develops the plumbing staff, which includes hiring, terminating, and disciplining of employees, scheduling employees, setting work priorities, conducting staff meetings, counseling employees, evaluating performance, and directing work assignments to ensure effective production.
- Establishes and maintains departmental operating policies and procedures and budgets.
- Interfaces with builders, contractors, homeowners, architects, building inspectors and project managers to identify service needs and maintain good customer relations.
- Evaluates workload and schedules installation and service work in a way that best utilizes manpower and maximizes profits.
- Resolves customer issues and complaints to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Communicates regularly with plumbing staff to assist in providing estimates, resolving problems, and closing sales.
- Ensures that materials and equipment are ordered and dispensed for scheduled jobs. Oversees general inventory control.
- Sets up pricing structures. Reviews bid proposals and discusses bids with estimator, as needed.
- Drives to job sites to monitor production and efficiency of technicians and monitor quality control.
- Generates reports and measures of departmental operations as well as records on all inventory, tools, and vehicles. Review reports with management.
- Instructs crews on proper use of materials and quality workmanship.
- Stays in touch with service technicians and installation crews to assist with unexpected needs.
- Reviews payroll records to ensure that technicians are paid properly.
- Assists the dispatching operation to ensure appropriate technician selection for type of service.
- May conduct job site surveys. Checks to ensure that each job is complete, and that documentation is completed.
- May set up plumbing inspections, oversee the permitting process and arrange for bonds.
- May assist in collecting past due accounts receivable.
- May complete employee accident forms and property damage forms and investigate claims.
- Ensures that employees have proper tools for the job and that they are properly maintained.
- Evaluates fleet and equipment for proper functioning and availability. Monitors preventive maintenance of vehicles to ensure proper operation.
- Evaluates staff to determine training requirements. Provides on-the-job training and support to employees.
- Oversees facility and equipment maintenance, ensuring that assets are protected and controlled.
- May manage drain service operations.
- May manage the fleet department.
- May hold Master Plumber licensure for the service center.
- Coordinates work with subcontractors, as needed.
- Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area.
- Ensures that all personnel observe safety and Company rules and regulations in the performance of duties and wear issued safety equipment.
- Observes all safety and Company rules and regulations in the performance of duties.
- Follows the guidelines for the Senior Cares, Ethics, and Quality Assurance Process.
- Follows all guidelines prescribed in the Plumbing and Sewer Sales Policy.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A High School diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent is required with 6-8 years of journeyman level experience in plumbing.
- Related experience and/or advanced training or any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
- An unrestricted Journeyman license and knowledge of local and national plumbing code is preferred but not required.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Must possess a working knowledge of general industry standards and strong supervisory, computer and mathematical skills.
- Strong communications/human relations skills are also required.
