Overview: ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. This Procedure Writer position will be responsible for creating, revising, and maintaining station Maintenance, Administrative, and other procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards. This role involves implementing recommendations from various departments, resolving procedure issues, and developing test methodologies. Additionally, the position requires supporting planned and forced outages, reviewing design changes, and ensuring procedural accuracy and timeliness. The candidate will also serve as a Qualified Procedure Reviewer and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance procedural processes.
This full-time position is located in Richland, WA. Pay rate: $43.73 - $58.64 Benefits: -

Responsibilities: - Create and revise station Maintenance, Administrative, and other station procedures.
- Implement recommendations from Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and other station organizations.
- Ensure procedures comply with License Bases Documents (e.g., Technical Specifications, ODCM, LCS, FSAR).
- Ensure procedures are consistent with source documents (e.g., drawings, vendor manuals, regulatory codes).
- Ensure changes comply with ALARA, chemical, environmental, and industrial safety standards.
- Prepare and implement Procedure Change Notices.
- Provide technical expertise on procedure-related issues.
- Resolve procedural issues with reviewers.
- Develop test methodologies to ensure compliance with standards and requirements.
- Assist Engineering with system operation and testing.
- Select appropriate test equipment based on engineering calculations and manufacturer's requirements.
- Incorporate FAO and OER recommendations into procedures.
- Review design changes for procedural impact.
- Ensure station documents comply with administrative requirements of the Sitewide PRO series.
- Disposition and implement CAP corrective actions and other assigned action items.
- Support planned and forced outages.
- Develop and revise procedures to support other organizations.
- Serve as a Qualified Procedure Reviewer.
- Represent the Maintenance Department during review processes.
- Recommend and implement improvements to administrative processes.
- Coordinate with customers to ensure accuracy and timeliness of products.
Requirements: - Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university AND 3 years of experience at a commercial nuclear power plant, 2 of which must be in operations and/or include procedure writing.
- OR High school diploma or GED and 6 years of experience at a commercial nuclear power plant, 2 of which must be in operations, Maintenance, Engineering, or related field.
- Previous RO or SRO license.
- Knowledge of nuclear power plant systems and components.
- Proficiency in technical skills relevant to the associated discipline.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with others and understand opposing views.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Ability to visualize, analyze, and comprehend complex situations.
- Ability to interpret and simplify complex tasks, drawings, manuals, instructions, guidelines, and requirements into clear, actionable steps.
- Strong organizational capabilities to handle various tasks and responsibilities efficiently.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, especially under schedule pressures and changing priorities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a cohesive team to solve complex issues.
- Familiarity with Columbia Generating Station (CGS) procedures and standard practices, including ALARA, Industry Safety Standards, Environmental Management System, Chemical Program, and Security protocols.
- Understanding of the Station License Bases Documents.
- Knowledge of SWP-PRO-03, the Procedure Writer's Manual.
- Proficiency in Passport (or relevant software), Microsoft Word (MSWord), Plant Tracking Log, and other Columbia Generating Station databases.
