Job Summary
The Product Manager gathers and analyzes customer needs, evaluates market and regulatory trends, develops new product roadmaps and strategy, leads presales support, and works collaboratively with others to drive profitable growth and innovation. This position is responsible for working with regional and functional teams to achieve financial objectives. The Product Manager exercises supervision in terms of priorities, costs, methods, and resourcing in a global, matrixed environment.
Responsibilities:
- Ownership of the Microgrid/ DERS product lifecycle management function, including hardware, software, and service, from new product development, through growth and sunset / divestiture.
- Coordinate with peers to drive Microgrid/DERS product line go-to-market and growth strategy in alignment with sales, engineering, finance, and operations functions. Ensure the strategy is effectively communicated to stakeholders and provide ongoing performance to plan updates to senior leaders.
- Collaborate and partner with other product lines and/or external partners to achieve product line objectives.
- Enablement of global routes to market to facilitate commercial success, accentuating fit into Channel Partners'
- Research market trends, demand drivers, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.
- Work with Marketing-Communications team to support the promotion of products and execute launches.
- Facilitate technical input for new product development, at the product & system level.
- Lead and enable identification, prototyping, and validation of design improvements at the product and system level that improve performance across the system life cycle - including configuration, logistics, packaging, assembly, commissioning, operation, and end-of-life support.
- Research market trends, demand drivers, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.
- Provide offering information to Customers, Sales, Customer Service and Application Engineering.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, product demos, and other sales enablement tools.
- Develop and track metrics to measure post-launch sales performance of new offerings.
- Collaborate with Marketing teams to develop marketing programs for demand generation.
- Create sales facing order configuration forms.
- Assist in championing resolution of offering issues (i.e., delivery, quality, inventory)
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements: - B.S. in Electrical Engineering preferred or equivalent experience in product engineering; MBA beneficial but not required.
- Demonstratable experience in Engineering / Supply Chain or Manufacturing Operations and working with cross-functional teams to identify and execute on priority actions.
- Ability to drive and accept change, continuous improvement processes.
- Must have demonstratable skills with Microsoft office applications, particularly Excel. Smartsheet and Power BI experience beneficial.
- Ability to directly interface with Customers, at the executive and technical levels, required.
- Experience leading cross functional meetings and presenting to small groups, both in person and via conference call
- Travel up to 10%
