Summary

Responsible for all aspects of project management. Develop and manage schedules, budgets, on time delivery and work through project issues. Utilizes customer relation skills to quickly bring closure to issues.

Education and Experience

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering including courses on thermodynamics and heat transfer.
  • Minimum five years' experience in project execution related to thermal drying systems or equivalent industrial/ municipal applications.
  • Demonstrated project management abilities (schedule, budget, quality, customer satisfaction).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English. Other languages are a plus.
  • Fluent in Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Project.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD & SAP is a plus.
  • Ability to manage several projects in different phases, at one time.
  • Ability to work with multi-cultural teams.
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience with air permitting requirements for fuel fired equipment.

Principal Duties

Major responsibilities are listed but not necessarily limited to the following duties.

  • Overall responsibility for project activities
  • Develop and manage schedules for assigned projects.
  • Develop and manage budgets for the projects.
  • Control the projects according to documented procedures.
  • Plan and coordinate with engineering personnel for completion of designs.
  • Manage the timely production of project deliverables.
  • Negotiate technical and commercial contracts with sub-suppliers.
  • Monitor the deliveries from sub-suppliers for schedule & quality compliance.
  • Communicate & coordinate with customers throughout project.
  • Work through project issues while maintaining positive relationships with customers.
  • Promotes and furthers Andritz's goals through the development of good customer relationships and recognized professionalism while at site.
  • Maintains current knowledge of new Andritz technology, both process and mechanical requirements.

Specialized Job Skills

Good mechanical and electrical aptitude.

Thermal systems knowledge.

Communication skills: oral, written, and presentation.

Process knowledge of Andritz drying and dewatering technologies.

Knowledge of municipal sewage treatment plants.

Experienced in reading engineering drawings.

Computer Skills: Microsoft (Windows, Word, Excel).

Relationships

Reports to engineering manager - thermal drying.

Interfaces with Stakeholders, including Senior Management, other Project Managers, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, and Andritz Customers'.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this position require the ability to walk, sit or stand for long periods of time. Requires extended movements including stooping, bending, and lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds. Make visual inspections with precise hand and finger movements, with reasoning and problem-solving ability. Ability to climb stairs at industrial sites indoors and outdoors year-round. Ability to use fall restraint harness and basic personal protection equipment.

Work environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate i.e., business office with computer, printer, and moderate traffic. Lighting and temperature are adequate with no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Occasional travel to customer sites may be required. Environment at customer job sites are typical of industrial (chemical and mining) and municipal waste water treatment facilities, including odors, noise and ambient temperatures.
