Job Description Summary
Responsible for day-to-day management of multiple clinical trials and other complex projects. Supervise and train research coordinators and research assistants, and coordinate their activities. Take a leadership role in developing study documents, managing the detailed operations of projects, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, and in cultivating close relationships with community partner organizations. Oversight of IRB submissions and complete start-up activities for new studies. Actively participate in the development of complex documents such as protocols, writing grants, and drafting/editing manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals. Accountable for making sure study timelines and goals are met. Independently move a clinical trial through each phase of development. Assist in patient recruitment, enrollment, and study visits as needed.
Job Description
The Project Manager will be responsible for day-to-day management of multiple clinical trials and other complex projects in the field of lipid metabolism, atherosclerosis, and cardiovascular disease. Supervise and train research coordinators and research assistants, and coordinate their activities. Take a leadership role in developing study documents, managing the detailed operations of projects, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, and in cultivating close relationships with community partner organizations. Oversight of IRB submissions and complete start-up activities for new studies. Actively participate in the development of complex documents such as protocols, writing grants, and drafting/editing manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals. Accountable for making sure study timelines and goals are met. Independently move a clinical trial through each phase of development. Assist in patient recruitment, enrollment, and study visits as needed.
In addition to the responsibilities above, the Project Manager B will be expected to work independently and be proactive and creative in overcoming challenges affecting study progress. He/she will also be expected to provide supervision of junior clinical research staff with minimal input from the PI.
Qualifications
Effective problem-solving abilities; effective communication and writing skills; strong organizational and time management skills; flexible and able to multi-task, demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently; knowledge of IRB and human research protection regulations. Prior experience as a clinical research coordinator is preferred.
PM-A
Bachelor of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
PM-B
Master's of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Additional qualifications for a Project Manager B: Prior experience as a clinical research coordinator is strongly preferred. Prior experience with supervising teams of at least 5 members is required. The ideal candidate would have strong leadership qualities and desire for growth.
